Group Training

Whether you are looking to qualify for Elite competition, race further or faster, or simply get back in the game, Startline Coaching programs offer something for you. All programs support a wide range of ages, and levels of athleticism. Both men & women are supported equally in their development. Success is all about consistency and sport specific knowledge. Expect to be challenged and to come out of these programs a more knowledgeable athlete.

All group training programs are USAT Sanctioned.

Note: The safety of all athletes, coaches, and staff is of paramount concern as we collectively face the health and safety risks of the COVID-19 Pandemic. All Startline Coaching programs follow the USA Triathlon Safe Return to Multisport Guidelines and Return to Racing Recommendations for Race Directors and the directives issued by federal, state and local authorities. All athletes engaged in Startline Coaching programs are expected to follow the USA Triathlon Return to Racing recommendations for Athletes as well as Startline Coaching Return to Training Safety Code of Conduct.

Given the scheduling uncertainty related to Covid-19, athletes have the opportunity to preregister for swim programs. Preregistration allows you to save your space in these fast closing sessions at no cost, pending final confirmation that the swim programs will proceed. 

Spring Triathlon

  • 21 Weeks
  • 2 group training sessions/week + solo workouts
  • Starts: 1/23/21
  • Ends: 6/13/21

Group Training Sessions:

  • Outdoor only program
  • Wednesday @ 7:00 pm
  • Saturday @ 8:00 am
  • No bag watch will be provided

Focus:

  • Outdoor group training program targeted to triathletes seeking to prepare for a spring/early summer triathlon event.
  • Culminates in a professional peak & taper for an A priority triathlon event

Winter Bike Focus

  • Group program
  • 12 Weeks
  • 3 group training sessions/week + solo workouts
  • Starts: 1/19/21
  • Ends: 4/11/21

Group Training Sessions:

  • Online & Outdoor program
  • Tuesday @ 6:30 am (Online)
  • Thursday @ 7:00 pm (Outdoor weather permitting or Online)
  • Sunday @ 8:00 am (Outdoor weather permitting or Online)
  • No bag watch will be provided

Focus:

  • Outdoor & Indoor (Zwift) group training program targeted to cyclists & triathletes to develop power, and endurance
  • Development of V02Max, FTP, & stamina in preparation for subsequent race preparation training

Spring
Triathlete Swim

  • Ends: 6/23/21
  • Wednesdays at 6:30 am
  • Location: Medgar Evers College
  • Weekly training plan via Training Peaks
  • 1 coached workout/week
  • 2 solo workouts

Focus:

  • Small group (Max 12)
  • Open Water Technique
  • Testing & training zone development
  • Pacing control
  • Endurance

Program is targeted to triathletes who want to improve technique, pace control, and endurance.

Enrolling athletes must be able to continuously swim 200 yards.

Spring

  • Weekly Training Plan via Training Peaks

  • Small group (Max 12)
  • Open Water Technique
  • Testing & training zone development
  • Pacing control
  • Endurance

Program is targeted to triathletes who want to improve technique, pace control, and endurance.

Enrolling athletes must be able to continuously swim 200 yards.

  • Group program
  • 12 Weeks
  • 2 group training sessions/week + solo workouts
  • Starts: 10/24/20
  • Ends: 1/16/21

Group Training Sessions:

  • Outdoor only program
  • Wednesday @ 7:00 pm
  • Saturday @ 8:00 am
  • Meeting location: Prospect Park West & 15 St.
  • No bag watch will be provided

Focus:

  • Outdoor group training program is targeted to runners & triathletes seeking to improve running technique, speed & endurance.
  • Culminates in a 10K or 10M race or virtual event.

Off Season Bike Focus

$375*

  • Group program
  • 12 Weeks
  • 3 group training sessions/week + solo workouts
  • Starts: 10/19/20
  • Ends: 1/10/21

Group Training Sessions:

  • Online & Outdoor program
  • Tuesday @ 6:30 am (Online)
  • Thursday @ 7:00 pm (Outdoor weather permitting or Online)
  • Sunday @ 8:00 am (Outdoor weather permitting or Online)
  • No bag watch will be provided

Focus:

  • Outdoor & Indoor (Zwift) group training program targeted to cyclists & triathletes to develop power, and endurance.
  • Culminates in a long group ride/race event on Zwift.


Note: *An additional $15 USAT waiver fee will be assessed for NON USAT members. Target race registration fees, accommodation, and other associated training & racing costs are not included in the fee for this training program. No refunds are available for this program.

Target race registration fees, accommodation, and other associated racing costs are not included in the fee for this training program. A $250 refund is available for this program should an athlete become injured prior to April 1 and be unable to complete the program.
